Meat and swine winners announced (07/15/2008)
Taking Note
A meat goat show and swine show were held recently at the Pennville Legion-Lions Fair.
Katie Snyder won grand champion meat goat and Travis Garringer won reserve grand champion.
John Bellante won grand champion doe and Kyle Cline won reserve grand champion doe.
Carley Grieship won beginner showmanship, Katie Snyder won junior showmanship and Ashley Walker won senior showmanship.
All winners were from Jay County.
Emma Landrum from Huntington County won grand champion barrow and Tyler Osborne from Jay County won reserve grand champion barrow.
Nathan Hamilton from Jay County won grand champion gilt and Katelynn Arnold from Huntington County won reserve grand champion gilt.
Emma Landrum from Huntington County won beginner showmanship, Noah Claycomb from Jay County won junior showmanship and Luke Liechty from Adams County won senior showmanship.
There were 40 pigs shown from four counties.

A king and queen contest was held during the Pennville Legion-Lions Fair.
In the baby category, Preston Hutchison was king and Dannicka Sorensen was queen.
In the pre-school category, Justice Murphy was king and Haley Corwin was queen.
In the pre-teen category, Riley Leavell was queen.
In the teen category, Justin Ellis was king and Kayle Sell was queen.

Felisha Renee Parr, Portland, recently graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) with an associate's degree in dental education.
