Mettler couple to celebrate
Allen and Ileen Mettler, 341 N. Franklin St., Dunkirk, are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary today.
Allen married Ileen Gierhart on Nov. 17, 1946, at West Walnut Street Church of Christ in Portland.
Ileen retired from the Jay School Corporation where she worked in the cafeteria for 27 years and Allen retired from the Dunkirk Post Office after 26 years of service.
The couple are the parents of Karen Mettler, Dunkirk, and Stanley Mettler, Mooreland. They also have two granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
