Miller, Lyons lead REMC

Katie Lyons and Blaze Miller led Jay County REMC to a 12-6 victory over Sertech Heating and Cooling in the Portland Junior League Minor softball championship game Friday evening. Also, Portland Elks earned the Pee Wee Reese baseball title with an 8-1 victory over Portland Kiwanis.
Miller had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and Lyons singled three times. Both players tallied three runs.
Audrey Shreve finished with three runs for Sertech.
Andy Kohler led the Elks to their title with a double, two RBIs and a run. Tyler Leonhard also doubled and drove in two runs.
Trevor Moeller doubled and scored the only run for Kiwanis.

Bilbrey leads Rays
DUNKIRK — Gabriela Bilbrey made the most of her final game of the season in the West Jay Community Center Summer Soccer League, leading the Sting Rays to a 9-1 victory over the Squidz Friday.
Bilbrey racked up six goals in the victory as the Sting Rays finished undefeated. Pacie Denney scored four times for the Hurricanes, and Austin Sampley had three goals for the Thunder.[[In-content Ad]]
