Milligan passes reins at Berne

Business Roundup

Doug Milligan, executive director of Swiss Heritage Village and Museum in Berne, recently announced his retirement, effective at the end of the year.
Milligan was previously the president of The Jay Garment Company and development director at Jay-Randolph Development Services.
The new executive director will be Debby Gerber Neuenschwander of Berne. Neuenschwander has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Anderson University and was the German Language teacher at South Adams High School for eight years.
“I am convinced Debby will be a terrific executive director at Swiss Heritage,” Milligan told the Swiss Heritage Society Board of Directors.

Thirty new jobs
Petoskey Plastics is currently in the process of implementing a $16 million expansion in its facilities in Indiana, Michigan, and Tennessee. Much of that investment is directed to the Hartford City plane, where 30 new positions will need to be filled by April 2013.
Petoskey Plastics opened the 300,000-square-foot plant in Hartford City in 2007. The facility processes recycled plastic into pellets that are then used in its blown film products, such as plastic sheeting and trash bags that are manufactured at its Michigan and Tennessee locations. Last year, Petoskey processed over 30 million pounds of post-consumer recycled plastic at the Hartford City plant.
Most of the job openings at the plant are for hourly manufacturing workers on 12-hour shifts. A high school diploma is required. Interested job seekers should contact Petoskey Plastics at [email protected].

Topics will include manure management rule changes that will take effect in February, an industry update from the association, what to look forward to in the coming growing season for pastures and forages, and, depending on advancement of proposed new regulations, a possible update on feed-grade antibiotic use.
