Zackery Hummer

Services for Zackery Wayne Hummer, 21, 311 Arlington Ave., Dunkirk, were held today at MJS Mortuaries in Dunkirk. He died early Friday in a single vehicle accident on 400 South in Jefferson Township.
Born in Portland, he was the son of Charity (Leist) Cummiskey (husband: Dr. Dan Cummiskey), Fort Wayne, and Chris Alan Hummer, Dunkirk.
Other survivors include a brother, Spencer Hummer, Dunkirk; two stepbrothers, Ryan Hummer and James Hummer, both of Muncie; grandparents, Ginger Leist, Dunkirk, Terry Leist (wife: Belva), Dunkirk, Jim Bob and Barbara McEwen, Dunkirk; great-grandmother, Phyllis Griffey, Hartford City; several aunts; uncles; two nieces and several cousins.
Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Dunkirk.
Memorials may be sent to the Zackery Wayne Hummer Memorial Fund in care of Pacesetter Bank, Dunkirk.
Richard Eglan

Services for Richard Lee Eglan, 78, Pennville, are Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Walker and Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier, with Pastor Earl Doll officiating. He died Friday at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis.
The son of Harry E. and Helen (Schumaker) Eglan, he was a 1950 graduate of Pennville High School.
He is survived by his wife Phyliss (DeBatty) Eglan whom he married on Aug. 23, 1952, in Pennville.
He was a farmer, a 45-year member of Pleasantdale United Methodist Church, and the Yellow Rockers Square Dance Club.
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Marcia Eglan, Portland, Kathy A. Garton, Auburn, and Michelle Wagner (husband: Lonnie), Portland; two sons, Jerry Lee Eglan (wife: Judy), and Rick Eglan (wife: Anita), both of Pennville; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandsons; seven great-grandsons and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 3 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Twin Hills Cemetery, Pennville.

Marilyn Stolz
Marilyn Fae Stolz, 76, 714 S. Meridian St., Redkey, died today at Albany Healthcare.
Born in Jay County to Charles and Lela (Smith) Brubaker, she was preceded in death on May 24, 2010, by her husband Philip Stolz, whom she married on June 12, 1953.
She was owner of Yesteryear’s Inn in Redkey and was a member of Redkey United Methodist Church, Gamma Nu Sorority, Cosmos Club and Jay County Band Boosters.
Surviving are two sons, Philip “P.G.” Stolz (wife: Barbara), Dunkirk, and Shane Stolz, Muncie; two daughters, Shawna Stolz, Redkey, and Dawn May (husband: Robert), Pendleton; and three grandchildren.
Services are pending at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home.

Leroy Timmerman

Services for Leroy Bernard Timmerman, 81, Brooklyn, Mich., were held Aug. 19 in Augusta, Mich. A former Fort Recovery resident, he died Aug. 12.
Born in Coldwater, Ohio, to William and Ida (Borgerding) Timmerman, he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Lee (Hensey) Timmerman whom he married in 1957.
A veteran of the United States Army, he received three Bronze Stars and the United Nations Service Medal.
Memberships include Abundant Life Assembly of Brooklyn, Teamsters UFCW Local No. 876, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are three daughters, Ramona Devore (husband: Robert), Brooklyn, Barbara Decker (husband: Glenn), Moscow, Mich., and Deanna Timmerman, Centerline, Mich.; a son, Dean Timmerman, Berkley, Mich.; a brother, Roscoe Timmerman (wife: Elsie), Fort Recovery; a sister, Laura Wendel, Fort Recovery; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
