A funeral Mass for Wilfred "Bud" S. May, 82, 1493 Denise Road, Fort Recovery, is Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Sharpsburg, Ohio, with the Rev. Charles Mullen officiating. He died Friday at his home.
Born in St. Henry, Ohio, to Leo and Catherine (Braun) May, he is survived by his wife Rosie (Fortkamp) May, whom he married on Nov. 24, 1949, in Sharpsburg.
Retiring from New Idea in Coldwater, Ohio, after 46 years, he was also employed at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, and the Crystal Ballroom and Eldora Ballroom for 25 years.
Memberships include Ohio Progressive Sportsman Club, American Legion, Knights of Columbus Council No. 3324, all of Fort Recovery; Fraternal Order of Eagles, Coldwater, Ohio; St. Paul Catholic Church and Holy Name Society of the church.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Mike (wife: Sue) May, Ron (wife: Pat) May and Bob May, all of Fort Recovery; a daughter, Phyllis (husband: Jim) Thobe, Maria Stein, Ohio; two sisters, Rita Pottkotter, Fort Recovery, and Ruth (husband: Henry Jr.) Kunkler, Burkettsville, Ohio; five brothers, Ralph May, Howard (wife: Donna) May, Walter (wife: Irene) May, and Jerry (wife: Lou Ann) May, all of St. Henry, Ohio, and Vic (wife: Charlene) May, New Weston, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home in Fort Recovery, with a Knights of Columbus prayer service on Tuesday at 7:45 p.m. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Sharpsburg.

Lucille A. VanSkyock, 90, 405 Greenville Road, Fort Recovery, died Friday at her home.
Born in St. Peter, Ohio, to Henry and Rosa (Gaerke) Knoth, she was preceded in death on April 7, 1991, by her husband Weldon VanSkyock, whom she married on July 2, 1949, in Celina, Ohio.
Memberships include Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and the Altar Sodality of the church, where she was a lector and lay distributor; and American Legion Auxiliary in Fort Recovery.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry (wife: Katherine) Adams, Loveland, Ohio, Ronald (wife: Connie) VanSkyock, Fort Recovery, and Kevin VanSkyock, Pleasant Hill, Ohio; a daughter, Joyce Long, Celina, Ohio; a sister, Henrietta Coughlin, West Milton, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery in Fort Recovery.

Joe S. Hilty, 69, 9681 South 50 East, Geneva, died Sunday at his home.
Born in Adams County to Samuel and Amanda Hilty, he is survived by his wife Leah N. Hilty, whom he married on June 14, 1962, in Geneva.
He was a farmer and member of the Old Order Amish.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, John L. (wife: Lucinda) Hilty and Samuel (wife: Rosey) Hilty, both of Geneva; a daughter, Margaret (husband: Mose) Hilty, Decatur; four brothers, Dan S. (wife: Barbara) Hilty, Geneva, Reuben (wife: Lydia) Hilty and Sam S. (wife: Elizabeth) Hilty, both of Seymour, Mo., and Melvin (wife: Emma) Hilty, Bryant; and 21 grandchildren.
Services are Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Hilty home, 9681 South 50 East, Geneva, with Bishop John M. Hilty officiating. Burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
Visitation is today from noon until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Hilty home.

Jean L. Moore, 63, 970 West 950 South, Geneva, died Saturday at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Born in Berne to Gorman and Ruby Augsburger, she was a graduate of Geneva High School.
She was a member of First Missionary Church, the Moose and Eagles.
Survivors include her fiancé, Andrew Yoder, Geneva; three daughters, Angela Wheeler, Portland, Teresa (husband: Michael) Bishop, Fort Wayne, and Dianna "DeeDee" (husband: Jeffrey) Cook, Decatur; two brothers, Melvin Augsburger, Berne, and Max Augsburger, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Joan (husband: Calvin) Morgan, Geneva; and several grandchildren.
Services are Thursday at 10 a.m. at Downing and Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva with Pastor Chris McPhearson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.

Dorman "Curly" R. Wagner, 88, 735 E. Shackley St., Geneva, died Saturday at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Born in Celina, Ohio, to Clarence and Mary Wagner, he was preceded in death on Oct. 26, 2006, by his wife Edna A. Wagner, whom he married on April 9, 1947.
A veteran of the United States Army, he retired from C.T.S. in Berne and was a member of Geneva V.F.W. Post No. 6751 and American Legion Post No. 0468.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lou (husband: R. Dean) Hall, Geneva; two sons, Dale Wagner and Lester Wagner, both of Geneva; four sisters, Helen Wagner, Geraldine Miller and Lavina Laux, all of Coldwater, Ohio, and Esther Laux, Portland; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services are Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Downing and Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva with Chaplin Anita Rediger officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva with military rites conducted by Geneva V.F.W. Post and Berne American Legion Post.

Born in Auglaize County to William and Caroline (Knerr) Lunz, she was preceded in death on Feb. 25, 1982, by her husband Karl H. Baeumel, whom she married on Sept. 20, 1933.
Survivors include a daughter, Alice (husband: Jay) King, Portland; a son; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services are Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Pusheta Road, in Auglaize County with Pastor Ray Long officiating.

Born in Allardt, Tenn. to Ralph Brown and Edna Crabtree, he was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Survivors include a son; two sisters; four brothers, including Dennis Madewell, Dunkirk; and several nieces and nephews.
