Barbara Gee

June 20 1948-Jan. 15, 2010

A memorial service for Barbara Sue Gee, 61, Dunkirk, will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Dunkirk Memorial Chapel and Cremation Center of Dunkirk. She died Friday at Parkview Nursing Center of Muncie.

Born in Jay County to Robert and Ruth Irelan, she was a graduate of Dunkirk High School.

She had worked at Littler Diecast Corporation in Albany.

Survivors include a son, Derek Gee, Indianapolis; a stepbrother, Tom Ross, Hartford City; two stepsisters, Mrs. Larry (Jody) Edwards, Plainfield, and Pat Rouse, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

William

Robertson

July 16, 1932-Jan. 15, 2010

William "Bill" E. "Red" Robertson, 77, Dunkirk, died Friday at Ball Memorial Hospital.

Born in Muncie to Roy and Reba (Hensley) Robertson, he graduated from Hartford City High School in 1950.

He was preceded in death by his wife Winifred Jean Roberson.

A veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Korean War and retired from Kerr Glass in Dunkirk after 30 years of service.

A member of American Legion Post No. 221 in Dunkirk, he had served as Civil Defense coordinator from 1970 until 1995.

Survivors include three sons, William E. Robertson and Tony Robertson, both of Muncie, and John A. Robertson, Oklahoma; a daughter, Mrs. Terry (Reva Renee) Blumenhorst, Dunkirk; two stepdaughters Carlene Samley, Dunkirk, and Doreen Oliphant, Albany; a sister, Mary Goodman, Yorktown; a stepbrother, Jerry Robertson, Westport; stepmother, Ruby James, North Vernon; his companion, Ruth Clevenger, Dunkirk; seven grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren and 13 stepgrandchildren.

Services are Tuesday at 2 p.m. at MJS Mortuaries-Dunkirk Chapel with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. Burial will be in Hawk Cemetery in Yorktown.

Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dale Jones

Oct. 28, 1960-Jan. 15, 2010

Dale W. "Billy" Jones, 49, Huntington, died Friday at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born in Jay County to James R. and Mabel Elnora (Franks) Jones, he attended Portland High School.

He is survived by his wife Anita M. (Wherry) Jones, whom he married on Oct. 26, 2001, in Portland.

He had worked at General Aluminum in Huntington since 2004 and had also worked at Sterling Casting for five years.

Surviving besides his wife are two stepsons, Jesse Singleton and Jason Singleton, both of Huntington; a brother, Perry Jones, rural Portland; and an uncle.

Services are Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Thoma/Rich, Chaney and Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton with Pastor Richard Strick officiating. Cremation will take place.

Visitation is Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Bluffton and Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.

Laurence

Barbara G. Laurence, 72, Montpelier, died Saturday at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne.

Born in Pennville to Clarence Russell and Modjeska (Hedges) Russell, she was a 1955 graduate of Montpelier High School.

She is survived by her husband Gerald D. Laurence, whom she married on Oct. 16, 1955, in Montpelier.

She had worked for 33 years in the cafeteria at Montpelier Middle School.

Memberships include First United Methodist Church in Montpelier and United Methodist Women, Just A Mere Club and Montpelier Pony and Saddle Club.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Gary Laurence, Hartford City, and Russell Laurence, Montpelier; three daughters, Marcia Rumbaugh, Fayetteville, N.C., Mrs. Mike (Beth) Baughey and Mrs. Russ (Marlene) Jones, both of Hartford City; two sisters, Roberta McDirmit, Fort Wayne, and Carol Sills, Montpelier; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Walker and Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier with the Revs. David W. Chinn and John Bellante officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.

Visitation is Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Hughes

May 28, 1938-Jan. 8, 2010

Mary Lou Hughes, 71, Dayton, Ohio, a sister of Fort Recovery residents, died Jan. 8 at her daughter's home in Virginia Beach, Va.

Born in St. Peter, Ohio, to William and Ida (Borgerding) Timmerman, she was preceded in death on Dec. 29, 1986, by her husband Gordon Hughes.

Survivors include three sons; three daughters; a sister, Laura Wendel, Fort Recovery; two brothers, including Roscoe Timmerman, Fort Recovery; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.[[In-content Ad]]
