Felony arrests
An Albany man is facing two class A felony charges for allegedly molesting two Jay County girls.
Michael S. Jones, 43, 133 S. Miller Ave., was arrested Friday on two counts of child molesting, both class A felonies. He was arrested on a Jay Circuit Court warrant issued Tuesday.
Between Jan. 1, 2005, and Dec. 31, 2006, he allegedly molested a 6-year-old and an 11-year-old. The alleged crimes occurred in Jay County. If convicted of the crimes, Jones could face 20 to 50 years in prison for each charge.
Jones was being held in the Jay County Jail this morning on a $75,000 bond.
Accused of theft
A Portland woman was arrested Sunday by Portland police for allegedly shoplifting.
Ranatta J. Buck, 26, 611 W. Arch St., was arrested for theft, a class D felony.
On Sunday, she allegedly stole several items from the Wal-Mart Supercenter, Portland. The items included bandages, antibiotic cream, body wash and jeans. Total value of the stolen items was $66.08. Buck was released from the Jay County Jail Sunday on a $3,000 bond.
Accused of possession
A Portland woman was arrested Friday after she was pulled over by Portland police.
Tiffany R. Wilson, 30, 960 S. Chicago Ave., was arrested for possession of a schedule II controlled substance, a class D felony, and driving while intoxicated, a class C misdemeanor.
Wilson was pulled over at Votaw Street and Canterbury Lane. When police arrested her, she allegedly possessed two drugs not prescribed to her. She was released from the Jay County Jail Saturday on a $3,000 bond.[[In-content Ad]]
