Accused of driving
A rural Portland man was arrested Saturday for allegedly driving after his driving privileges had been suspended for life.
Phillip N. Stahley, 33, 436 East 400 South, was arrested by Portland police for driving after being adjudged a habitual traffic offender, a class C felony, possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony, and possession of a police radio, a class B misdemeanor.
An off-duty Portland police officer allegedly saw Stahley driving on Saturday and knew that his license was suspended for life, police said. Another police officer pulled Stahley over on East Arch Street.
Stahley allegedly possessed hydrocodone not prescribed to him. Police later allegedly found a police scanner in the vehicle.
Stahley was released from the Jay County Jail Saturday on an $11,000 bond.[[In-content Ad]]
