Vera White
Vera F. White, 89, Redkey, died Friday at Persimmon Ridge, Portland.
Born on Oct. 30, 1918, in Salamonia, to Roy and Hazel (Mock) Shull, her husband Bill preceded her in death.
She and her husband were owners/operators of the B and V Truck Stop in Redkey for 28 years.
Vera was also a custodian at Union Bank in Redkey and a past member of the Ladies Aide in Redkey.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gene (Ellen) Stigleman, Redkey; four sisters, Dorothy Sutton and Mrs. Bob (Carol) Manor, both of Portland, Ruth Hartman, Alameda, Calif., Mrs. Clyde (Eileen) Schuetzle, Jacksonville, Ark.; two granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.
Services are Tuesday at 11 a.m. at MJS Mortuaries-Redkey Chapel with Pastor Craig Crotherman officiating.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to Redkey First Responders with envelopes available at the funeral home.
Kenneth Hunt
Kenneth "Kenny" E. Hunt, 52, 339 W. Commerce St., Dunkirk, died unexpectedly Saturday at Jay County Hospital.
Born on Aug. 17, 1955, in Muncie, to Elgin and Margaret (Davenport) Hunt, he graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1973.
A self-employed contractor in the area for several years, Hunt was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post No. 227 in Dunkirk.
Survivors include his mother, Margaret Foster, Dunkirk; three brothers, Bill G. Hunt, Sapulpa, Okla., Tim C. Hunt, Albany, and Rick E. Hunt, Columbus; three sisters, Judy L. Sorrell, Dunkirk, Janet L. Hunt, Maysville, Ky., and Mrs. Kenny (Peggy A.) Myers, Dunkirk.
Services are Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home with Pastor David Boots officiating. Burial of the cremains will be held at a later date.
Visitation is Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to the family of Kenny Hunt with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Mary Jellison-Boice
Mary Helen Jellison-Boice, 93, 631 E. Water St., Portland, died Saturday at her grandson's home in Portland.
Born in Jay County on Dec. 7, 1914, to Arthur and Eva (Bisel) Alexander, she was married on Feb. 22, 1939, to John W. "Jay" Jellison, who died on June 26, 1989. She was later married to George Boice who died in 2001.
A 1946 graduate of the Chicago School of Nursing, she retired as a L.P.N. from Jay County Hospital and also worked at Community Care West and Chalet Village.
Memberships include Noble Congregational Christian Church, a 60-year member of Rebekah Lodge No. 307, a 50-year member of Do A Lot Home Demonstration Club, past president of District 27 Rebekah Lodge, Jay County Hospital Auxiliary and Jay County quilt club.
Survivors include two sons, P.G. Jellison, Portland, and Larry Lee Jellison, New Castle; a daughter, Donna Mae Walling, Venice, Fla.; a brother, Albert Ward Alexander, Troy, Ill.; four grandchildren, including Shane Jellison, Portland; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are Friday at 10 a.m. in Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Bothast officiating. Burial will be in Green Park Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to Noble Congregational Christian Church Building Fund.
Rebecca Licht
Rebecca Licht, 58, Muncie, died Saturday at Ball Memorial Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. She has relatives in the Jay County area.
Born on July 2, 1949, in Washington, to Robert D. and Virginia C. (McIntire) Meeks, her husband of nearly 39 years, James L. Licht, survives.
Other survivors include two sons; a daughter; her mother and seven grandchildren.
Services are Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Center Chapel United Methodist Church, 900 W. Royerton Road in Muncie. Burial will be in Tomlinson Cemetery in Muncie.
Visitation is Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
