Jon Luttman

Jon Bill Luttman, 53, Grand Street, Redkey, died Saturday at the Jay County Hospital. He was the Redkey Fire Chief.

Born to Michael and Lois (Boozier) Luttman in Portland on July 11, 1950, he was a past master of the F.&A.M. Halfway Lodge No. 298, Redkey.

He was the Redkey fire chief for over 20 years and was an active member of the Redkey Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are his parents, Michael and Lois, Redkey; one son, Jon M. Luttman, Redkey; a daughter, April Luttman-Smith, Albany; two brothers, Ken D. Luttman, Liberty, and Doug Luttman, Indianapolis; his companion, Candi Hatzell, Redkey; five grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at M.J.S. Mortuaries-Redkey Chapel, Redkey, with burial following in Hillcrest Cemetery on Ind. 1.

Visitation is Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Memorials may be made to the Redkey Volunteer Fire Department.

June Roderick

Services were held today for June “Jon” I. Roderick, 71, Sheridan Street, Ridgeville, who died Friday at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital, Winchester.

Burial took place in Reitenour Cemetery, east of Ridgeville.

Born in Ridgeville on Nov. 22, 1931 to Charles and Leah (Williams) Seyler, she married Robert R. Roderick, who preceded her in death.

A member of Ridgeville Calvary Church, she had worked as a cook at a restaurant in Ridgeville.

Surviving are one son, Michael Roderick, Ridgeville; two daughters, Mrs. Timothy (Valerie) Pearson, Winchester, and Mrs. Frank (Roberta) Rigby, Ridgeville; two sisters, Jean Brown, Winchester and Mrs. Jim (Judyth) Doss, Ridgeville; two brothers, Michael Seyler, Union City, and James “Whitey” Seyler, Bryant; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the family.

M.J.S. Mortuaries-Middleton Chapel, Ridgeville, handled the arrangements.

Judith Franks

Judith Franks, 60, 963 S. Bridge St., Portland, died early Sunday morning in the Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.

Born on Sept. 17, 1943 to Marion and Leah M. (Ashley) Shauver, she married Franklin Franks on Dec. 22, 1962. He survives.

Employed by the Jay Garment Co. and May Insurance Agency, both of Portland, she attended Gospel Lighthouse Church, Portland.

Other survivors include, a son, Todd A. Franks, Portland; a daughter, Carol A. Stocker, Portland; her mother, Margaret, Portland; two brothers, Robert Shauver, New Castle, and Alan Shauver, Portland; three sisters, Linda Valentine, Salamonia, Nancy Shauver, Portland, and Janet Goad, Muncie; and four grandchildren.

Services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with burial will follow in Center Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
