Museum holding open house (03/15/07)
Taking Note
The Jay County Historical Museum will hold an open house on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. The featured display will be photographs of New Corydon from the collection of Kirk Reed.
The museum is located at 903 E. Main St. in Portland and admission is free.
County calendar
The Portland Chamber of Commerce has created a county-wide community calendar for any Jay County club or organization to list activities. To submit an item, include the name of the club or organization, name of the event, date and time of the event and a contact person.
Items must be submitted two weeks in advance to Portland Chamber of Commerce, 118 S. Meridian St., Suite A, Portland, IN 47371, fax to (260) 726-3372 or e-mail [email protected].

Classical pianist Robert Palmer will perform at Arts Place in Portland on April 24 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets may be purchased at the box office, by calling (260) 726-4809 or by visiting www.artsland.org.
Festival in Greenville
The 21st annual Bluebird Festival and Artisan's Fair will be held March 24 and 25 at the Greenville Armory in Greenville, Ohio. Events on March 24 will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 25.
Exhibits and vendors will pertain to bluebirds, wildlife, nature, wildlife art and Native American Culture and will also include live animals.
The event is sponsored by Darke Countians for Wildlife Conservation.
