Music department to have annual concert
Taking Note
The Jay County High School Music Department will have its annual Christmas concert on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the JCHS auditorium.
“The Splendor of Christmas” will feature the Jay Patriot Concert Band, Danza Cantate, Music Connections and Patriot Edition performing holiday tunes.
The choirs’ annual cookie walk will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and after the concert.
Worshop
The Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution will have a Genealogy Worshop on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jay County Public Library, 315 N. Ship St. in Portland.
The workshop is for women interested in joining the organization that promotes historic preservation, education and patriotism.
Women must be at least 18 years old and prove lineal bloodline descent from someone who served as a patriot in the colonies or states during the American Revolution.

Holiday care
A support group is being offered to help anyone who may struggle through the holidays due to the loss of a loved one.
“Holiday Care” will meet each Monday at 7 p.m. at C & C Bible Fellowship, 4383 South 150 East, Berne.
The group will meet through January.
