Native American art on exhibit (11/10/06)

Arts Place in Portland is featuring the exhibit "Out of Tradition" through Dec. 23.

Out of Tradition is The Works of the Tradition Bearers of the National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture.

Arts Place is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday from noon until 4 p.m.

The exhibit is sponsored by The Portland Foundation and Indiana Arts Commission.

Birthday celebrations

Mrs. Floccie Taylor, formerly of Dunkirk, will celebrate her 85th birthday on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Lynd House in Muncie. Cards may be sent to Mrs. Floccie Taylor, Lynd House, Room 109, 2410 E. McGalliard Road, Muncie, IN 47303. She is the mother of Joel Taylor and Mrs. Randy (Rose) Davis, both of Redkey.

A celebration in honor of Betty Bedwell's 81st birthday was held recently at Wildwoods Campground in Hartford City. There were 81 people attending.

Jay County Public Library will have a Family Fun Time on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 9:30 a.m. for children infants and older with a caregiver.
