The National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture 2010 Spring Cultural Arts Classes will be held Saturday, March 27, and Sunday, March 28, in the Women's Building at Jay County Fairgrounds in Portland.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday and classes will be from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Doyle Blooding will serve a meal on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Shirley Willard, Fulton County historian and founder of the Pottawatomi Trail of Death Association, will speak at 7 p.m.

April Conference

The National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture will hold its 2010 Academic Conference "Eastern Woodlands Treaties" on April 17 at John Jay Center for Learning in the Weiler Building in Portland.

Speakers will be Shirley Willard, John Dunnagan, Tony Reganaucourt, Dr. Ben Secunda and Sara Wagar.

Bunny train

The Easter Bunny Express will make several trips to Bunny Patch Station on Saturday, April 3.

The trail will leave Connersville's Grand Central Station at 10:10 a.m., 12:01, 2:01 and 4:01 p.m.

Upon arriving, children ages eight and younger will visit with the Easter Bunny and participate in an egg hunt.
