NCGLNAC classes to be held
Taking Note
The 11th annual National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture Spring Cultural Arts Classes will be held Saturday, March 24, and Sunday, March 25, in the Women’s Building at the Jay County Fairgrounds in Portland.
Adult classes will be offered in fingerweaving, arrows, beaded hair barrettes and scrimshaw and the class “Remembering American Indian History” will be offered for children six and older.
Classes will meet Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
There will be a dinner Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m., followed by the lecture “The Impact of the Fur Trade on the Great Lakes Native People” by Boni Bent Nelson at 7 p.m.
Registration will be held Saturday from 8 to 9 a.m.

Also the NCGLNAC Academic Conference “Eastern Woodlands Tribes in the War of 1812” will be begin Saturday, April 21, at 9 a.m. at John Jay Center for Learning in Portland.

Jill Pottkotter and Scott Will, both of Fort Recovery, each graduated with a bachelor of science degrees from Ball State University.
Dean’s list
Betsy Homan was named to the fall dean’s list at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. She is from Fort Recovery and is a master of occupational therapy student.
Megan Huntsman, Portland, was named to the fall dean’s list at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill.
Kelly Knapke, Fort Recovery, was named to the second semester dean’s list at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.

Emily Bauer, Virginia Bruggeman, Lauren Day, Nicole Dilworth, Stacy Gehle, Josephine Guggenbiller, Elizabeth Muhlenkamp, Lauren Staugler, Heather Sudhoff, Kelly Sudhoff, Alexis Sutter, Scott Will, Kimberly Willmann and Haley Wilson.
