Taking Note
By By VIRGINIA CLINE-
The Nebraska Elementary School in Fort Wayne will be paying tribute on Friday, Oct. 27, to long-time teacher, Phyllis Ford.
Ford, a resident of Portland, traveled daily to the school where she taught kindergarten for 38 years before passing away in January after a long battle with cancer.
Staff members at the school have purchased a bench that sits in the school's courtyard and plans call for dedicating this bench to Ford's memory during a 1:30 p.m. ceremony. The school is located at 1525 Boone St.
Road show
The Art Association of Randolph County and St. Vincent Randolph Hospital Foundation are sponsoring the second annual antiques and uniques road show from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Union City Railroad Depot.
Experts have signed on to evaluate items at a cost of $5 each.
There is no admission charge for those wishing to observe or see the displays at the depot.
