Tyler Niekamp turned in his best game of the year against Findlay's closest rival.
Niekamp, a 2003 Fort Recovery graduate, posted a season-high 11 points Dec. 30 in the seventh-ranked Oiler men's basketball team's 100-61 beating of Tiffin.
The senior shot 4-of-6 from the field, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range, in the clash between the schools which are separated by just 25 miles of U.S. 224 in western Ohio.
He also had four rebounds and one assist as Findlay kept Tiffin winless on the year at 0-12.
Niekamp also hit a 3-pointer and added one rebound and one assist in Thursday's 59-47 win over Mercyhurst. The Oilers are now 11-1 and a perfect 5-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Just missed double figures in helping the Indiana University Southeast men's basketball team to a 125-50 romp Thursday over Boyce College.
Rigby had a career-high four assists in the victory to go along with his nine points. He added four rebounds and a steal.
The Grenadiers also played in the Wittenberg Tournament recently, defeating Thiel College 83-59 in the semifinals and lost to the host Tigers 78-47 in the championship.
Rigby finished with five points, three rebounds and two assists in the opening victory. In the championship game, he added three points, four rebounds, two steals and one assist.
Another Jay County graduate, Trent Bailey (2005), is on the Wittenberg roster, but did not play against Rigby's Southeast squad.[[In-content Ad]]
