Kevin Tungesvick will speak Monday, March 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Geneva Nazarene Church Fellowship Hall, 225 Decatur St., Geneva. He works for Spence Native Plant Restoration Nursery, Muncie, and is considered one of the most knowledgeable botanists in Indiana.

BALL STATE GRADUATE
Joshua Gibson, son of Rick Gibson and Roger and Cheryl Geesaman, all of Portland, recently graduated from Ball State University, Muncie, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science. He is currently working at the Jay County Hospital, Portland, as coordinator of the Jay County Tobacco Free Coalition. He is also pursing his Masters Degree at Ball State and is a graduate assistant at Fishers Institute of Wellness.
CHICAGO QUILT FESTIVAL
The World’s Fair of Quilts will be held in Chicago, Ill. on March 26 through 28. Swiss Stitchers Quilt Guild will be hosting a chartered bus trip on Sat., March 27.
The bus will leave Berne, Ind. around 5 a.m., with pick up in Decatur, Ind. around 5:20 a.m. and return to Berne around 10:30 p.m. The cost is $37, which includes transportation and admission to the show. The West Jay Middle School announced their February students of the month. The 6th grade student was Brittney Watson, daughter of Bill and Donna Watson; the 7th grade student was Derik Lucas, son of Jim and Krista Lucas and the 8th grade student was Valerie Bowers, daughter of Dave and Tammy Bowers.
FORT FFA EVENTS
The Fort Recovery FFA recently held its Chapter Ceremony. Receiving awards were Greg Brackman, Danielle Bruns, Keith Bruns, Matt Brunswick, Beth Fortkamp, Brad Fortkamp, Kyle Fortkamp, Josh Gaerke, Jason Grube, Tyler Grube, Nick Hemmelgarn, Karla Jutte and Beth Lennartz.
Also Jennifer Link, Mandy Pax, Jim Post, Jason Post, Scott Pottkotter, Kevin Ranly, Tyler Rauh, Alicia Schmackers, Mike Schoenlein, Barry Shier, Lee Stammen, Lindsay Sudhoff, Adam Sutter, Doug Sutter, Tyler Thobe, Dusty Tobe, Holly Vogel, Kelsie Will, Mary Will and Rachel Will.
Winners received their silver chapter FFA pins and will be recognized at the Annual FFA Banquet on April 15.
The Fort Recovery FFA Chapter held its annual omelet breakfast during National FFA Week in the high school commons area. Members made 225 omelet breakfasts for the community to show appreciation for their support.[[In-content Ad]]
