Old National Bank, based in Evansville, announced this week the formation of the Old National Bank Foundation, including the new Grants and Sponsorships Initiative.
The foundation will make charitable donations of at least $2,500 to non-profit organizations to fund projects which are large in scope and impact.
Corporate sponsorships in support of community events are also available through the Foundation.
Applications for grants and scholarships are available online at www.oldnational.com/grantsandsponsorships.
Old National Bancorp has $8.2 billion is assets and is the largest financial services bank holding company headquartered in Indiana and ranks among the top 100 banking companies in the nation.

official retires
Richard W. Snodgrass, executive vice president of The Bank of Geneva, retired May 12 due to health reasons after nearly six years in his position.
During his employment, Snodgrass was active in many civic organizations, including the Adams County United Way, Berne Chamber of Commerce and Adams County Business Development.
A retirement dinner was held in his honor at the Back 40 in Decatur on May 11.

Crossing Borders, a hands-on workshop about globalization sponsored by the Miller College of Business at Ball State, will be held June 7.
Speakers include Gov. Mitch Daniels, Steve Akard, director of international development for the Indiana Economic Corporation and Jack Skinner of Ice Miller, Inc.

Tennesee-based Dollar General announced this week it will be taking applications, conducting interviews and hiring for 300 positions at the Marion distribution center.
The center, which will open this fall, will employ about 400 people.
Emily Snyder, of Dollar General’s home office said that the company has already received nearly 4,000 applications, and those who have applied need not reapply.
Applications are being accepted at WorkOne centers in Marion and Gas City and at the store’s human resources facility in Marion, and will be accepted through June 2.
On-the-job training will be provided for sorters, loaders, merge operators, order pullers and shipping clerks.

Ken Adkins has been named LifeStream’ new CEO. A reception will be held Friday, June 2 to welcome Adkins and to provide an update on the 2-1-1 information and referral service.
The reception will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Portland Place, 430 W. Lafayette St.
LifeStream 2-1-1 offers information on health care, shelter, support groups, housing, food, counseling, clothing, education and legal aid.

Ball State University, in cooperation with John Jay Center for Learning, will hold an Entrepreneurship Boot Camp at the Community Resource Center, 118 S. Meridian St., Portland.
The five-session course will offer a crash-course is business ideation, marketing and funding.
Classes will be held Tuesday, June 4, Wednesday, June 16, and Wednesday, June 21, from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturdays, June 24 and July 22, from 9 a.m to 3 p.m.
