Taking Note
The Hoosier Heartland Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering on line classes for all their health and safety courses.
The courses offer a combination of written material, photos and videos.
Some training courses require students to attend a two hour skill session before a certification can be given.

82nd Convention
The 82nd Airborne Division will have its 63rd National Convention on Aug. 19-22 in Indianapolis.
The 82nd has members from the 11th, 13th, 17th 82nd and 101st divisions. It also has 100 civilian chapters across the U.S.A. which serve the military and civilians, with 34,000 members.

Fun calendar
Activity calendars are available at Jay County Public Library. Anyone who completes at least 15 activities on the calendar will receive a prize.
Calendars may be picked up at the library from Monday, Dec. 29 through Saturday, Jan. 17.
Graduates
Terry Koons of Geneva graduated with a bachelor's degree in management from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion on Dec. 13.
Dean's list
Jacob W. Schmidt, a 2008 graduate of Jay County High School, made the dean's list for the fall quarter at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Jacob is the son of Gary and Diana Schmidt, Portland.
