Open house set at museum (11/28/07)

The Jay County Historical Museum will have an open house on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Christmas at the Museum features 10 decorated Christmas trees from each of the schools in the Jay School Corporation and one from Jay County Christian Academy.
Visitors may vote for their favorite tree by placing a food item under the tree to be donated to the Helping Hand Food Pantry. The school with the most items wins a set of history books.
The museum is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. each Sunday through Dec. 28. It will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25.
Top students
West Jay Middle School students of the month for November were recently named.
In sixth grade was Evan Masters, the son of Mike and Debbie Masters.
In seventh grade was Jason Farmer, the son of Carrie Martin.
The eighth grade winner was Aaron Helm, the son of Doug and LuAnn Helm.
Genealogy class
A Genealogy for Beginners class will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Jay County Public Library with instructor Shirley Dollar.
