FORT RECOVERY — A raucous crowd was treated to a game in which the lead shifted back and forth five times in the final 1:10.
It was the Indian fans who got to celebrate at the buzzer.
Brandon Schoen found J.J. Overton wide open underneath the basket for the game-winning hoop as time expired Monday, lifting the Fort Recovery High School freshman boys basketball team to a 41-40 victory over the Versailles Tigers.
The Tribe girls team lost 34-25.
Griffen Rieble gave Versailles the lead on a put-back hoop with 14 seconds to go, and the Indians (4-0) called a time out with 6.4 seconds remaining. Schoen worked to the right side and then found Overton on a back-door cut to the basket. Overton put the ball off the glass and in to give Fort Recovery the win.
