Pacesetter Bank presented awards to three Jay County employees at the company’s annual training day Feb. 20.
Marilyn Teer, an employee of the Dunkirk branch, received the Teller Achievement award for perfect balancing throughout 2011, while Portland branch employees Natalie McIntire and Kristy Inman were the top two referral producers in the company.
The company also recognized John Faulkner of the Dunkirk branch for 15 years of service.
Pacesetter Bank, based in Hartford City, employs more than 55 in Blackford, Jay, Randolph and Grant counties.
Job fair set
Progress Rail Services, which cut a job fair short earlier this year when a larger-than-expected crowd showed up, will try again on Saturday.

The job fair for the locomotive manufacturer will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Horizon Convention Center, 401 S. High St., Muncie.
The company is seeking applicants with welding experience. Applicants should also be registered with WorkOne and complete the state’s WorkKeys Assessment. Applicants must also have a minimum of a high school diploma or a GED.
Progress Rail is operating in a former Westinghouse/ABB building on Cowan Road on the south side of Muncie. The company has not said how many workers it is seeking, but officials said earlier that 650 employees would be hired by the end of this year.
Attends seminar
Dr. Steven DeGroff, an optometrist with offices in Berne and Winchester, attended an eye disease treatment seminar Feb. 24-26 in Phoenix.
The meeting of the American Optometric Society, featured several internationally-known speakers.
DeGroff has practiced in Berne for 25 years.
Hospice hire
Nicole Johnson, Portland, has joined State of the Heart Hospice as an on-call registered nurse.
Johnson is a 10-year health care veteran, having served as an I.V. tech, LPN and RN.
State of the Heart Hospice is a not-for-profit agency that has been providing care to patients for 30 years. The agency has offices in Portland and Greenville and Coldwater, Ohio.
