Parkway tops Indians

ROCKFORD, Ohio — A top-10 opponent proved too strong for the Indians.
The Division IV No. 7 Parkway Panthers cruised past the Fort Recovery High School volleyball team 25-11, 25-8, 25-22 Thursday.
Emily Link had eight digs, five assists and three points for the Indians, who dropped to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in the Midwest Athletic Conference. Kylie Kahlig had seven blocks and three points.
Abby Backs added 10 digs in the loss to Parkway (9-1, 3-0 MAC), and Ericka Lennartz had five kills.
Fort Recovery dropped the junior varsity match 25-19, 25-8 with Tori Lennartz contributing six kills and a block. Rachel Pugh had 11 digs, one kill and one point in a 25-15, 25-9 loss for the Tribe freshman team.
Cards top golfers
CELINA, Ohio — The Fort Recovery boys golf team dropped a 171-175 decision Thursday to the New Bremen Cardinals at Mercer County Elks Golf Club.
Jared Kahlig had four pars and a birdie to share the team lead for the Indians with a 42. Hayden Pott-kotter also shot 42 as he recorded three pars and a birdie.
Darin Bergman earned medalist honors for New Bremen with a 41.
Derek Rammel had a par and a birdie as he followed Kahlig and Pottkotter for Fort Recovery with a 45. Gage Retz completed the team score with a 46.

FORT RECOVERY — Cole Dues scored three times Thursday to lead the Fort Recovery seventh grade football team to an 18-0 victory over the New Bremen Cardinals. The eighth grade team won 20-0.
Dues handled all of the scoring in the seventh-grade game with his first TD coming on a 15-yard run in the second quarter. He added scoring runs of 65 and 10 yards for the Tribe (3-1) in the second half.
Darien Sheffer paced the eighth grade Indians (1-2-1), tossing a 10-yard TD pass to Ross Homan and a two-point conversion pass to Kyle Schroer. Jackson Hobbs had a 65-yard TD run, and Wes Wenning scored on a 1-yard run.[[In-content Ad]]
