Party to be held for reading participants

A party for participants of the adult summer reading program at Jay County Public Library will be held Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Novel Destinations will feature exotic coffees and teas from around the world and dessert breads, cupcakes and cookies.
Prizes will be given and include an iPod, GPS, CD player and two coffee table books. The grand prize drawing will be at 6:30 p.m.

Concerts scheduled
Free concerts are held each Sunday at 8 p.m. at VanTrees Park in Fort Recovery.
Mike Hemmelgarn will perform Sunday as part of Family Night, which will also include comedy, clowns and jugglers. The Van Dells will perform on Aug. 7, and Fort Recovery’s community talent night will be Aug. 14.
There will also be a Family Night at the Movies, beginning at dusk, on Aug. 18.

Collecting coats

Jay Aerie Eagles No. 928  is collecting new and used coats in infant through adult sizes.

Singers invited
The International Sweet Adeline organization of Christmas City Chorus invites female singers to special guest nights.
The nights will be Aug. 8, 15 and  22  from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Church of the Brethren, 2302 S. Geneva in Marion. All area women are invited to come and learn more about membership and participate in a rehearsal.

Geneva residents Kami Huntsinger and Carl Isch were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Ball State University.
