Pennville holding fall festival
Taking Note
The Fourth Annual Pennville Fall Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 16, with the theme “A Celebration of Community Spirit.”
The festival will be held at Pennville Community Park and will feature a large pumpkin contest and a junior contest, for ages 14 and younger, sponsored by the Indiana Giant Pumpkin Club.
The Lions Club will serve breakfast at 6 a.m. and the fire department will have a hog roast from 4 to 7 p.m.
There will also be demonstrations, crafts, pumpkin decorating, music, games, food, face painting, pumpkins, haunted lawn, photo spots and more.
Livestock expo
Wil Taylor, Portland, has entered four head of junior market lamb in the sheep division in the 37th annual North American International Livestock Exposition.
The expo will be held Nov. 6 through 19 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.
Fort Auction
The Fort Recovery Historical Society and Project Recovery will hold its tenth annual “ONE OF A KIND AUCTION” with the theme “Classic Golden Days of Yesteryear.”
The auction will be held Sunday, Oct. 17, from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Fort Recovery Middle School Auditeria.
Tickets are available at Fort Recovery Insurance Agency, Mercer Savings Bank, First Financial Bank, Second National Bank or from members of the Fort Recovery Historical Society and Project Recovery.

Craft show
Lehman Park Harvest Festival will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lehman Park in Berne.
The festival will include the Autumn Colors Arts and Crafts Show.
There will also be a Design-Your-Own Scarecrow Contest. Prizes will be given for most traditional, most whimsical and best scarecrow.

Diaper Derby
Briggs Fiechter, 10 1/2 months, the child of Todd and Jessica Fiechter, crawled to second place in Bluffton Street Fair’s Diaper Derby held Saturday, Sept. 25.
