Pennville students win fair

Taking Note

The East Central Indiana Regional Science Fair was held Saturday at Ball State University.
Participating from Pennville Elementary were Ethan Andreshak, third grade, the son of Mike and Kerri Andreshak. He received an honorable mention.
Cheri Walter, fourth grade, home-schooled, the daughter of Don and Laura Walter. She received  third place.
Catherine Stafford,  fourth grade, the daughter of Don and Beth Stafford. She received second place.
Allison Jobe, third grade, the daughter of Brian and Lisa Jobe. She received first place.
Harlaina Knapp, fifth grade, the daughter of Bill and Melissa Knapp. She received a participation ribbon.
Brade Vore, fifth grade, the son of Joe and Amy Vore. He received first place and $50.
Gavin Corwin, fifth grade, the son of Alicia Corwin and Justin Saxman. He received third place  and a medal and was selected to attend the Hoosier Science and Engineering Fair at Ivy Tech Community College in Bloomington.
Spring meeting
Indiana Farm Bureau will have its spring meeting and pizza party on Wednesday, March 9, at 6:30 p.m. at Huntington University Commons in Huntington.
Anyone wanting to attend from Jay County should make reservations by Friday to Lou Ann Zimmerman.
The evening will include a legislative and tax update from Bob Kraft and a presentation from Mark Bacon on his trip to Japan.

Music and grief
State of the Heart Hospice will have its monthly grief support meeting on Wednesday, March 9, at the Portland office, 1237 W. Ind. 67.
The topic will be “Music and Grief.”
