Pfeifer graduates from Chicago avenue
Taking Note
Nicole Pfeifer, Chicago, graduated from the International Academy of Design Technology in Chicago in July with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts with a focus in fashion design.
She also had the opportunity to travel to Paris and participate in a study program there and some of her designs have been in runway shows in Chicago.
She is the daughter of Carol Pfeifer, Portland.
Graduates
Sara Lynn Franks graduated cum laude from the University of Indianapolis in May with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and was named to the honor roll for the spring semester.
She is a 2006 graduate of Jay County High School and the daughter of Greg and Cathy Franks, Portland.
Academy to begin
The Jay County Citizens Sheriff Academy will begin Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 6 p.m. at the Jay County Sheriff’s office.
The academy will run for six consecutive weeks. Applications are available at the sheriff’s office and need to be turned in there by Wednesday, Sept. 8.
Genealogy program
The Darke County Genealogical Society will have a program on how to get started on a personal family history quest on Sunday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m. in the Lowell Thomas meeting room at Garst Museum, 205 N. Broadway in Greenville, Ohio.
