A short story by Portland native Margaret Ronald appears in the premiere issue of Fantasy Magazine, which hit newsstands in December.
A graduate of Williams College and the daughter of Jack and Connie Ronald, Portland, Margaret Ronald has also had short fiction published recently in Realms of Fantasy and Ideomancer. She resides outside of Boston and is a member of the Boston Area Science Fiction Writers Group.
She’s employed by Fidelity in Boston.
Photos wanted
The Creative Arts Council Gallery in Bluffton is seeking quality photographic works for its biennial community art exhibition “Focus on Photos” to be held Jan. 10 through Feb. 23.
Amateur and professional photographers are welcome to display traditional or digital photos. For a brochure explaining entry guidelines, framing and matting of photos and how to be eligible for awards, e-mail the art center at [email protected] or call (260) 824-5222.
The Creative Arts Council Gallery is located at 211 Water St. in Bluffton.

Indiana high school students may enter forms of artistic expression in The Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance annual eXceL Awards competition for a chance to win college scholarships. “Perceptions” is the topic for this year’s competition and works may be entered in writing, music, two-dimensional art, three-dimensional art, video and performance.
A “Perceptions” topic booklet and entry form can be obtained by visiting www.infarmbureau.com/Excel and completing the request entry form section, visit [email protected] or call (800) 723-FARM (3276) ext. 7748.
