Portland place opening in April

Business Roundup

An apartment complex currently under construction on the north side of Portland will be open to residents 55-and-over sometime in April.

Portland Place Apartments, located north of Jay County Hospital near the intersection of Creagor Avenue and Lafayette Street, will have 10 units open in its first building in April, with plans to open 20 more units in September.

One- and two-bedroom apartments will be available, with monthly rental rates from $193 to $495, depending on income of the occupant.

The facility is being developed by Quality Housing Development Inc. and Heritage Commons of Portland LLC. Heritage Commons also operates an assisted living facility just west of the hospital, and also built and sold condominiums at that location.

The company is a subsidiary of Heritage Medical Group, which owns and operates AmeriCare Living Center of Portland.

Most apartments will be furnished with a stove, refrigerator and microwave, along with window coverings. Free on-site access to washers and dryers will be provided, and each apartment will have a hook-up for washers and dryers.
