Portland rolls over Expos

FORT WAYNE — The Rockets split games with the Fort Wayne Expos during the Firecracker Classic. Their early fireworks led to a doubleheader sweep Sunday.

Wasting no time in taking control, the Rockets (17-10) batted around in the first inning of the opener as they scored five runs. They racked up 16 hits as they finished off the game early.

South Adams High School graduate Dan Bollenbacher tossed four innings for the win and struck out five batters. Wesley Hibbard, Jay County class of 2014, pitched scoreless in relief in his Portland debut.
The Rockets built a 6-0 lead in the first three innings of the second game and then held on for the win.
