Postcard program is Tuesday
Taking Note
A program about postcards will be presented Tuesday at the Jay County Historical Society Museum, 903 E. Main St., Portland.
The program presented by Jay County Historian Jane Spencer will feature the postcard collection of George and Alta Cull.
The postcard era began in the late 1890s and continued through the 1920s.
The public is invited to the free event.
Dean's list
Travis Theurer, rural Union City, recently was named to the dean's list at Butler University for the spring semester.
A handful of local residents recently were named to the dean's list for the spring quarter at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Named to the list were Donald Michael, Portland; Jessica Muhlenkamp, Portland; and Jacob Schmidt, Portland.
Donald is the son of Don and Lisa Michael. Muhlenkamp is the daughter of Allen and Theresa Muhlenkamp.
Schmidt is the son of Gary and Diane Schmidt.
Registration begins
Registration for State of the Heart Hospice's Camp BEARable has begun.
Camp will be held July 23-24 and will be held at the Spiritual Center in Maria Stein, Ohio. The free camp helps youths ages 6 to 15 who have lost a loved one deal with their grief.
