Pregnancy Care Center is at church

The Pregnancy Care Center has set up a temporary location at Portland First Church of the Nazarene, 920 S. Shank St.
The center will be open Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Cafe
The Jay County High School French Club will have its annual Mardi Gras Cafe on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the South hallway of the high school.
Homemade croissants, crepes, eclairs, quiches and  fruit tarts will be available in a French bistro setting.
There will also be mask making and games for kids.

Students of month
West Jay Middle School recently named its Students of the Month for February.
In sixth grade was Alli Campbell, the daughter of Craig and Stacy Campbell.
In seventh grade was Mackenzie Staver, the daughter of Gina Cummings.
In eighth grade was Morgan Brown, the daughter of Michael and Bonnie Brown.

Winter guard
Jay Patriot Winter Guard recently took third place at Anderson High School, with Anderson finishing second and Crawfordsville winning class Regional A.
The Patriot Winter Guard will compete Saturday in state finals at Center Grove High School in Indianapolis.

Graduated
Bill Spahr recently graduated Cum Laude from the University of Indianapolis with a bachelor’s degree in K-12 Health and Physical Education.
While at UIndy, Spahr was inducted into the Department of Kinesiolgy Honor Society (Eta Gamma Chapter of Phi Epsilon Kappa National Professional Fraternity) and the Sigma Omicron Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi.
Spahr is a 2006 graduate of Jay County High School and the son of Bob and Mary Spahr, Portland.

Dean’s list
Daniel Brackman, Fort Recovery, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Wilmington (Ohio) College.
Aaron Kahlig, Fort Recovery, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at the University of Dayton (Ohio).
Megan Elaine Adams and Rachel A. Osterholt, both of Portland, were named to the dean’s list at Huntington University.
