Samm Quinn has joined the staff at The Commercial Review as a city government and police reporter.
Quinn, 22, graduated from Franklin College in May with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in leadership. She will replace Mason Shreve, who is leaving the paper to attend graduate school.
In college, Quinn served as the executive editor for The Franklin, Franklin College’s student-run newspaper. She was also a student editor for TheStatehouseFile.com, a news website powered by Franklin College journalism students.
Quinn has held internships at The Star Press in Muncie and at The Evansville Courier & Press. A Dyer native, she previously freelanced for The Post Tribune in Munster.
She enjoys listening to music, reading, photography and spending time with family and friends in her free time.

Area Development magazine conducted a survey with site selectors to determine the top 10 site selection decision drivers. Indiana ranks high in the following criteria:
Labor costs – Indiana is recognized as having low to competitive labor costs.
Highway accessibility – Indiana is known for possessing one of the best highway systems in the U.S.
Availability of skilled labor – Indiana is developing new programs to address educational attainment and the need for continuing education opportunities.
Availability of advanced information and communications services – Indiana ranks well in this because of infrastructure investments.
Corporate tax rates – Due to changes in State corporate income tax, Indiana ranks well.
Crime rate – Indiana’s crime statistics show the state ranks well in this area.
Available buildings – Indiana has a large inventory of available buildings.
Tax exemptions/incentives – Indiana has competitive programs, incentives and exemptions in place
Occupancy or construction and energy availability and costs – Indiana ranks well in this area.

MUNCIE — The IU Health Ball Memorial Board recently announced the retirement of its chairman.
Jim Fisher announced his retirement from the board of directors in July after serving for seven years.
Replacing him is Michael L. Cox, who has served on the board of directors since 1987.
Jud Fisher, president and COO of Ball Brothers Foundation, will fill the vacancy on the board.

Hartford City Foam, a specialty foam product and packaging manufacturer has added a new $160,000 piece of equipment, which will help the Hartford City manufacturer to expand its production capacity.
