FORT RECOVERY — A disastrous second quarter left the Indians just short of victory.

Fort Recovery’s freshman boys basketball team nearly came back from a 15-point halftime deficit, but fell to the Marion Local Flyers 33-30 Monday night.

The Indians were up 5-3 after the opening period, but managed just two points in the second. They scored more points in both the third and fourth quarters than in the entire opening half, but it was not quite enough to overcome the 22-7 halftime deficit.

Brent Faller led the Indians with eight points and four rebounds, and Tom Will had seven points and four boards. Matt Braun totaled six points and four assists, and Frank Thien also had six points.

Marion Local scored more than half of its points — 19 — in the second quarter.
