Rebel spikers rally past Jay

LYNN - The Jay County High School volleyball team had a two-games-to-one lead Thursday night, but could not pull out the victory as it fell 25-20, 19-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-5 to the host Randolph Southern Rebels.
Kelsey Wood set the pace with 17 digs, nine points and 10 kills for the Patriots, who fell to 4-25 on the year. Danielle Wellman added 13 digs and eight points.
Mariah Hornaday matched Wood with 10 kills, Kassi Hemmelgarn put up 13 assists and Liz Walker had eight digs.
In the junior varsity match Randa Gillespie totaled 10 points and nine digs to lead JCHS to a 25-22, 25-14 victory. Tanner Martin notched nine assists and nine points, Whitni Somers had eight digs and five kills and Ashley Franklin also had five kills for the Patriots (12-5).[[In-content Ad]]
