Recent blood drive draws 90 donors

The Hoosier Heartland Chapter of the American Red Cross recently held a blood drive at Asbury United Methodist Church in Portland with 90 people donating.

Receiving gallon awards were Josh Gibson-three gallons; Roseanna Knipp-one gallon; Linus Mescher-three gallons; Lizzie Schwartz-four gallons; Carl Stoner-18 gallons; and Janice Wendel-five gallons.

Donating blood were Thomas Clutter, Darwin Harter, Francis Laux, Terry Robinette, Kay Atkinson, William Fenters, Matthew Simmons, Pauletta White, Jane Switzer, Paul Martin, Jerry Bias, Leah Dm Coblentz, Amanda Schwartz, Chester Franks and Patricia Brunswick.

Also Jaime Klinger, Dawn Leugers, Ashli Godfrey, Billie Cooper, Darrell Borders, Wanetta Millett, Arthur Harris, Ralph Frazee, Janet Brunswick, Ivo Goettemoeller, Eldon Campbell, Charlene Whitenack, Marlene Runyon, Paula Barron and Charles Stewart.

Joe Hines, Charlie Pogue, Dick Manor, Dick Rines and Betty Sue Manor.

Donating food items and supplies were McDonald's, Domino's Pizza, Beyond the Gilded Willow, Trinity United Methodist Women, Delta Theta Tau Sorority and Portland Loyal Order of the Moose.

Music lessons

Arts Place in Portland is accepting registrations for summer MusicWorks lessons to begin June 15 and continue through July 24.

Lessons are available in band instruments, strings, piano, voice and guitar.
