By Virginia [email protected]

An informal gathering to introduce the public to a Celebrate Recovery group will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at The Rock office, 109 N. Meridian St. in Portland. There will be chili and baked potatoes. The group helps people deal with hurts, hang-ups and other issues they may be dealing with. For more information, call (260) 726-7474.

November Warriors
Judge Haynes Elementary School chose its Warriors of the Month for November for serving as outstanding examples of the school’s career skills.
Chosen were Azael Navarro, Erin Pennington, Kess McBride, Emma Morrical, Kearsten Myers, Riley DeVoss, Hannah James, Shadie Canterbury, Michael Schlechty, Mason Mock, Cera Batt and Brenda Rodriguez.

Medicare sign-up
It’s time to re-enroll for Medicare Part D, the federal government’s prescription drug program for those on Medicare or Medicaid. There are more providers and other changes that have made the process more difficult, so LifeStream Services is offering help.

SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Program) counselors will be available to help with the sign-up process on Friday, Dec. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Jay County Hospital.
To make an appointment, call LifeStream at (800) 589-1121 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Bring a list of medications and Medicare cards.

To compete
A local school will compete in the Twenty-Second Annual Mercer Savings Bank MAC Scholastic Bowl on Monday, Dec. 13, from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at St. John’s High School in Delphos, Ohio.
Fort Recovery High School Scholastic Bowl team members will compete under the coaching of Margie Dilworth.[[In-content Ad]]
