Recycled art contest winners named (04/28/08)
Taking Note
The winners of the 2008 Recycled Art Contest, sponsored by the Jay County Solid Waste Management District, were recently chosen.
In Division I (pre-K through sixth grade) the first place winner was Michael Bruggeman, the second place winner was Mitchell Bruggeman, the third place winner was Kaleb Weaver and honorable mention went to Raven Weaver.
In Division II (seventh through 12th grade) the first place winner was Austin Harris and the second place winner was Michelle Bruggeman. There were no other entries in this category.
In Division III (adults) the first place winner was Tashia Charles, the second place winner was Bettie Jacobs, the third place winner was Leota Shaneyfelt and honorable mention went to Tom Jacobs and Mary Adair.
In Division IV (family) the first place winner was Eads, Holcomb and Kriegbaum families, second place was Confer and Glass families, third place was the Harris family and honorable mention went to the Weaver family.
The entries are on display at the Jay County Public Library through the first of May.
Officers chosen
Student Council and class officers were recently chosen at Jay County High School.
The 2008-09 Student Council Officers are Jennifer Hunt, president; Trey Dunn, vice president; Brittany Crawmer, secretary; Lauren Haggenjos, treasurer; and Jake Omstead, sergeant at arms.
The class of 2009 officers are Cori Vormohr, president; Briann Saxman, vice president; and Michelle Dirksen, treasurer.
The class of 2010 officers are Colton Prescott, president; Kyla Baldwin, vice president; Kari Hemmelgarn, secretary; and Cody Bullard, treasurer.
The class of 2011 officers are Spencer Grady, president; Erin Hunt, vice president; Elaine Hemmelgarn, secretary; and Austin Mann, treasurer.
