Red Cross classes coming to JCPL (01/25/06)

A community first aid and safety course will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jay County Public Library.
Also a volunteer orientation will be held at the library on Monday, Jan. 30, from 5 to 6 p.m.
These classes are offered by the Hoosier Heartland Chapter of the American Red Cross. The cost of the first class is $45 and the volunteer orientation is free. For more information or to register, call (765) 284-3361 or (800) 480-4403.
Dean’s list
These students made the dean’s list for the fall of 2005 at IU East in Richmond.
Kristy Ferguson, Dunkirk; Kimberly Haffner, Ridgeville; Erin McLaughlin, Portland; and Blake Watson, Redkey, the son of C.W. and Sharon Watson.
Slide show
The Fort Recovery Friends of the Library are hosting a slide presentation given by Jim Zehringer, Mercer County commissioner. The show will be Monday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. at the library. Zehringer will show slides of his travels to Israel, including a day spent in Jerusalem and at the Sea of Galilee.
Annual meeting
The Wells County Historical Society will hold its annual meeting on Monday, Feb. 6, at the Bluffton-Harrison Middle School. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. A musical program will follow about the exploration of American from AD 1700 through 1865. Rich McConnell and Rick Henly will sing, play instruments and appear in period costumes.
The cost of dinner is $13. Anyone wishing to attend the program only, may do so at no charge. For more information or to register by Jan. 30, call 824-5443 or 824-2866.[[In-content Ad]]
