Red Cross to offer volunteer class (01/06/07)

The Hoosier Heartland Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold an open house and orientation on Thursday, Jan. 25, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Jay County Public Library.
The open house is for anyone interested in becoming a Red Cross Volunteer.

Flowering trees
Ten free flowering trees will be given to anyone who joins The National Arbor Day Foundation during January.
The trees include two white flowering dogwoods, two flowering crabapples, two Washington Hawthorns, two American redbuds and two golden rain trees.
To become a member, send a $10 contribution to TEN FREE FLOWERING TREES, National Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Avenue, Nebraska City NE 68410 or visit arborday.org.
Students of the month
West Jay Middle School recently announced its Students of the Month for December.
In sixth grade was Kennedi Craw, the daughter of Shonny and Angela Craw.
In seventh grade was Dylan Friddle, the son of Ted and Brenda Friddle.
In eighth grade was Anneliese Jetmore, the daughter of Kirk Jetmore and Debra Lane.[[In-content Ad]]
