Redkey artifacts to be on display (4/16/05)
Taking Note
Redkey’s history, reflected through local collectors’ memorabilia, will be on display Sunday at the Jay County Historical Museum.
Among some of the items that will be on display are an old scrapbook from longtime Redkey school secretary Helen Landess; a Redkey High School basketball scoreboard from local collector Rod Wolford, and canning jars manufactured in Redkey from the collection of Jeff Miller.
The museum is located at 903 E. Main St. in Portland and will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. The items will also be on display at the museum on Sunday, May 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
FASHION SHOW
Ball State University fashion students will present the fashion show “Rock the Runway... Rule the Red Carpet” on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Horizon Convention Center, 401 S. High St. in Muncie.
Original and innovative garments made from scratch will be featured.
ASIAN MONTH
Wright State University, as part of Asian Heritage Month, Asian Culture Night will present Chitram: A Portrait of India on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Apollo Room.
Tickets for the multimedia musical theater production are $10 at the door. For more information, call (937) 775-3232.
COOKING WITH GEORGE
The Delaware County Extension Educator will present “Cooking with George” on Monday, April 18, at 3 p.m. at the Jay County 4-H building. Everyone is invited to come and learn some new and interesting ways to cook on you indoor grill.
For reservations, call the Jay County Extension office at (260) 726-4707. The cost is $3.
GREENHOUSE
A presentation on pruning and homeowner pesticides will be held Tuesday, April 19, at 7 p.m. at the Jay County High School greenhouse.
The program is sponsored by Jay County schools and Purdue University.

The Fort Recovery Jubilee 100th Anniversary Cookbooks are on sale now at the three Fort Recovery banks, Kaup Pharmacy and the Tin Cupboard. The books contain 300 recipes, photos and memorabilia from past jubilees and cost $12.

C & C Bible Fellowship and the East Central Indiana Christian Bow Hunters are having a special outing on Monday, April 18, from 5 p.m. until dark.
