Business Roundup

Jay County has joined Blackford, Delaware and Grant counties and Energize-ECI in a multi-county economic planning district.

The district, which the Jay County Commissioners and Jay County Council both voted to join earlier this year, will allow the county to seek development opportunities and open doors to new federal funding sources targeted toward economic development.

The district will allow the four counties not only to receive additional support for each of the individual areas, but also for the region as a whole. The new regional district could help the region win grant funding.

Fleetwood RV Inc. reported that its Class C Quest model is quickly selling to dealers as production nears a close in November.

The RVs are being produced in California, but production will be shifting to Decatur once inventory on the west coast is used up. Fleetwood RV was created out of the bankrupt Fleetwood Enterprises companies when a private group purchased the RV lines.
