Taking Note
Innovations winter-spring classes will begin at Arts Place the week of Jan. 21, 2008. Classes will be held in Portland and St. Marys, Ohio.
Classes for students and adults in Portland will include Portfolio Plus, Hip Hop Dance, Jazz Dance, Oil Painting, After School Arts, Ceramic Mix, Watercolors, Little Arts, Kids Dance, Youth Ceramics, Adult Ceramics, Bellydancing, Adult Arts, Youth Sampler, Little Arts Open Studio, Adult Arts Workshops, Drum Circle, Haflas and Ceramics Open Studio.
Registration forms are available at Arts Place, 131 E. Walnut St. in Portland. They can be mailed to P.O. Box 804, Portland, IN 47371 or dropped off at the Collective Center, 138 E. Spring St. in St. Marys.

Open house
An open house to celebrate the 95th birthday of Gladys Clamme will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at CrownPointe Communities in Hartford City, just west of Blackford Community Hospital. Clamme is a former Dunkirk resident.
Gingerbread Village
A Gingerbread Village is on display at Conner Prairie through Dec. 30 and includes gingerbread houses, churches and historic buildings.
Conner Prairie is located at 13400 Allisonville Road in Fishers and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5p.m. It will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Indiana Coalition for the Arts Foundation, Inc. is seeking nominations for its annual Community Arts Leadership Awards for those advancing the cause of community and local arts in Indiana.
The guidelines and nomination forms can be downloaded at www.INArtsCoalition.org, click on "services and programs" and then "arts leadership awards."
Nomination deadlines are Jan. 28, 2008. The award ceremony will be held in Indianapolis on Feb. 28.[[In-content Ad]]
