Reinhart makes dean's list (1/21/05)

Benjamin David Reinhart has made the dean’s list at Purdue University for the first semester of the 2004-05 adacemic year.
He has also received a sophomore scholarship, which is given to students with at least a 3.50 GPA and have completed 30 hours of coursework.
Benjamin is the son of Dave and Jane Reinhart, 1432 East 300 North, Portland.
NOMINATIONS
The Fort Recovery Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations through February 14 for its citizen of the year and hall of fame awards.0
Nominations for citizen of the year should be a person who has given outstanding service to the Fort Recovery community during 2004.
Hall of fame award nominations should be a person who has given outstanding service to the community in past years.
Nomination forms are available at the Fort Recovery library, post office, Mercer Savings Bank, Fort Recovery Banking Center or Community First Bank & Trust.
The presentation of awards will be held at a banquet on Sunday, March, 13, at 6 p.m. at the Catholic Church Undercroft in Fort Recovery. Tickets are available from any Chamber member or by calling (419) 375-2530.
SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANT
The Mideast Indiana Scholarship Organization will host The Miss Mideast Indiana Scholarship Pageant on Feb. 26 with the location yet to be determined.
The pageant is for women between the ages of 18 and 24 and living in Wells, Jay, Adams, Blackford and Randolph Counties. Competition is held in the areas of talent, interview, swimsuit and evening gown.
There will be an informational meeting by the end of January. Anyone interested should call Angie Dehoff at (260) 565-3608.
OLDER WORKER
Experience Works (formerly Green Thumb) is searching for Indiana’s 2005 outstanding older worker. Nominees must be Indiana residents age 65 or older, work at least 20 hours per week and be willing to travel to Washington, D.C.
Nominations must include a brief narrative that describes the older worker’s overall contribution to the business, including longevity, experience, skill level, work ethic, any disabilities the person has to overcome to perform the job and a description of the person’s community involvement.
Nomination forms can be obtained by calling the Experience Works Regional Office at 1-800-843-0885 and must be received by April 1.[[In-content Ad]]
