Ride to begin in Ridgeville

The 11th annual fall “Ride With Pride” fund run will be held Saturday and will begin at Ridgeville American Legion Post No. 507. “Ridin’ For the Children” will help support the Morgan Short fund.
Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. and sign up will be from 10 a.m. until noon. For more information, call (765) 857-2515.  

To speak
George Ironstrack will speak Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Fort Recovery State Museum. Ironstrack is a member of the Miami tribe of Oklahoma and he will speak on the topic “The Tumultuous Period of the 1780’s Through the Treaty of Greenville.”
Ironstrack is assistant director and education coordinator of the Myaamian Project at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Game night
Jay County Public Library will host a game night on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. for all ages. Bring games, cards or puzzles or use ones at the library. The library is located at 315 N. Ship St. in Portland.

Auction
Swiss Heritage Village & Museum will host a benefit auction on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the village at 1200 Swiss Way in Berne.
Items to auction will be home furnishings, entertainment, sports and recreation, lodging and vacations, food and dining, jewelry, tires, toys, lawn and garden and clothing. Public inspection of the items will begin at 3 p.m.

Proceeds from the auction will help with renovations to the museum.

Christmas Chorus
Rehearsals for Christmas City Chorus will begin Monday, Sept. 19, at Church of the Brethren, 2302 S. Geneva Ave., Marion. Females age 13 and older are eligible to participate. Registration and part placement starts at 6:15 p.m. and rehearsal begins at 7 p.m.
Participants will receive a folio of music, a learning CD and a rehearsal schedule. There is a $20 program fee due, $5 of which will be refunded when the music and CD are returned.
Christmas City Chorus is a chorus of Sweet Adelines International and is comprised of members from Grant, Blackford, Delaware, Jay, Howard, Huntington and Wabash counties. For more information, call (765) 677-SING or visit www.christmascitychorus.org.

Vendors needed
An Arts and Crafts Demo Fair will be held Oct. 16 during the Lehman Park Harvest Festival in Berne and arts and crafts vendors are needed. A  discounted fee will be offered to artisans who offer demonstrations or free samples of their work. For more information, call Amy Orr at (260) 849-2187.

Grief sessions
State of the Heart Hospice will begin Growing Through Grief sessions on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the office on Ind. 67, Portland.
