EVANSVILLE - After splitting their first two tournament games, the Portland Rockets were handed their ticket home.
Portland lost 14-4 to Berea, Ohio, in the elimination round Thursday. They split two games with teams from Canton, Ohio, on Wednesday.
Mitch Waters, a 2002 Jay County High School graduate, started and took the loss. He went six innings, giving up 12 runs on six hits. Daniel Bollenbacher allowed two runs in one inning of relief.
The Rockets racked up 12 hits, three of which came from Andrew Drummond, in the defeat. They finished 21-20 on the season and won 21 of their final 31 games.[[In-content Ad]]
