The Portland Area Chamber of Commerce is holding its Noon Networking Luncheon on May 27, at noon, in the Conference Rooms A and B at Jay County Hospital.

BUSINESS WORKSHOP
SCORE business counselors, in addition to guests from local banking, legal and insurance institutions, are presenting workshops titled, “How to Start Your Own Business”.
The workshop, to be held in Marion, is most effective for individuals who operate a small business, or plan to start a small business.
Information provided will include understanding a business plan, how to obtain financing, how to set up an accounting system, understanding taxes and marketing.
The sessions will be held at the Marion Public Library, 600 S. Washington St., Marion, in Meeting Room B.
The sessions will run from 6:30 - 9 p.m. on May 27-28. The cost is $40 per person, or the same price for two people in the same business.

Two businesses with ties to the area were ranked recently in the Indiana Business Magazine for being two of Indiana’s largest privately-held companies.
Kelly Automotive Group, out of Fort Wayne, and Wabash Valley Power Association, based in Indianapolis, were ranked 20th and 21st, respectively, in the magazine’s May issue.
Wabash Valley Power Association showed revenue of $478 million and Kelley Automotive brought in $482 million in revenue.[[In-content Ad]]
