SA netters cruise past Generals

FORT WAYNE — A near-perfect night in singles action keyed the South Adams High School boys tennis team in a 4-1 victory Monday over the Wayne Generals.
Alex Huber and Mark Muselman each won their matches, each posted 6-0, 6-0 victories over Brandon Barker and Daniel Minser respectively. Scott Hoeppner just missed a shutout in his No. 2 singles match, defeating Josh Boehm 6-0, 6-1.
Reid Zurcher and Ian Frank added a 6-1, 6-1 win over Derrick Weil and Ken Otis at No. 2 doubles. In the No. 1 doubles match, Kegan Sprunger and Derek Schwartz fell 6-4, 6-2 to Kyle Sullivan and Nick Best.
Blockberger leads FR
ROCKFORD, Ohio — Wyatt Blockberger led the Fort Recovery junior varsity football team to a 40-19 victory Monday over the host Parkway Panthers.
Blockberger tossed three touchdown passes in the victory, two of which went to Mitch Vagedes. Kyle Timmerman ran for a pair of TDs, and Bobby Mattraw and Alex Wenning each scored a touchdown.
Cody Grube came up with an interception.
Tribe finishes 12th
The Fort Recovery boys golf team placed 12th out of 14 teams at Saturday’s Jordan Moeller Memorial golf tournament. Van Wert won with a 326.
Jared Kahlig finished with an 83 to lead the Indians. Shawn Roessner, Derek Rammel and Elijah Kahlig all posted 97s, and Gage Retz scored a 101.[[In-content Ad]]
